Draft for approval. This page was prepared as a starting point and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Please read it, amend anything that does not reflect how the practice operates, and have it checked before the site goes live.

Our commitment

ML Psychology Rockhampton ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This policy covers the website only. Personal and health information collected in the course of providing supervision is handled under our separate practice privacy and records arrangements, which are provided to supervisees directly.

What we collect

Through the contact form on this website we collect:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • your phone number, if you choose to give it; and
  • the content of the message you write.

Providing a phone number is optional. If you do not provide your name, email address, and a message, we will not be able to respond to your enquiry.

Please do not include sensitive information, health information, or identifiable client details in your enquiry. The contact form is for initial contact only and is not a secure clinical channel.

Why we collect it

We collect this information solely to read and respond to your enquiry, to discuss whether supervision is a suitable fit, and to keep a record of enquiries received. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not send newsletters or promotional email.

How your enquiry is transmitted and stored

The contact form is processed by our website host, which receives the submission and forwards it to our email address. That provider stores a copy of the submission on its systems. Enquiries are then retained in our email records.

Depending on the provider, submission data may be processed or stored on servers located outside Australia. By submitting the form, you consent to that overseas disclosure for the purpose of delivering your enquiry to us.

Who we disclose it to

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not disclose your information to anyone other than our website host and email provider, except where disclosure is required or authorised by law.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set cookies, does not use analytics or tracking tools, and does not load fonts, scripts, or other resources from third-party services. Our host may keep standard server logs, which can include IP addresses, for security and operational purposes.

Spam protection

The contact form includes a hidden field used to detect automated submissions. It collects no information about you.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. This site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept only as long as needed for the purpose they were collected for, or as required by law. Where an enquiry does not lead to supervision, we destroy or de-identify the record once it is no longer needed.

Accessing and correcting your information

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the contact form and we will respond within a reasonable period. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page.
